What evidence is the Government of Alberta basing their mask mandates on?

Early this year I wrote an open letter to Dr. Hinshaw (the CMOH for the province of Alberta), asking her to provide evidence for the provincial mandates or to remove them and update the recommendations. I sent the letter to Dr. Hinshaw as well as numerous government officials and asked others to send it to their government representatives as well. I received a response from Alberta Health citing some studies which, instead of supporting mandates, made it clear that the mandates have no quality evidence behind them and are likely to be doing more harm than good. Below are links to this correspondence including the open letter to Dr. Hinshaw, the email response I received from Alberta Health, and my reply to Alberta Health along with some additional comments on the studies they cited in their email.

What about restrictions/lockdowns?

I also wrote to all Alberta MLAs (in late March 2021) about the current restrictions asking them to question and to research for themselves, to seek out multiple experts and to require evidence, rather than blindly following along with the advice from Alberta Health. There is so much evidence now that not only are lockdowns/restrictions ineffective at stopping the spread of the virus, but they are causing widespread harm that may continue to affect the population for years to come. Below is a link to this letter that includes quotes from many such experts and links on where to begin searching for evidence.

I followed that with another letter (in late April 2021) reiterating that we can not put blind trust in the health officials and outlining some of the misinformation that had been propagated by certain health officials in the mainstream media and even in paid advertisements on social media.
